In a press release today, Gartner VP Mark R. Gilbert highlights that a lot has happened in the last year on the social enterprise side of things. (link to release)
“Through 2015, only 25 percent of enterprises will routinely utilize social network analysis to improve performance and productivity.”
25% adoption within the next 5 years is an astounding figure considering that the state of SNA today:
1) there are still few usable or scalable SNA tools
2) the hard ROI from SNA still tends to be soft benefits
3) few SNA tools integrate natively into existing CRM and data mining systems, most of them opting to recreate duplicate systems.
